Course Content: What is research? Why do we do research? Develop Literature Review, Research Design and Approaches (Qualitative vs Quantitative),Defining research problems, Develop research framework and thinking through table, Develop questionnaires, Plan for fieldwork and field practice, Data tabulations and Data Analysis, Research Report Writing
II. Basic Course (Institutional Consultancy), February-October, 2011:This institutional consultancy course will be provided to particular NGOs who are interested in building their staff’s capacity to understand social change that affect their programs and project activities by going through systematic research processes, which will help to inform their policies and programming decision. This is a long term support through mentoring and coaching process. The course content is the same as the above Basic Course
III. Community Course:
Part One: Understand the key concepts related to development and Participatory Action Research (PAR). Field practice to understand about Participatory Action Research, 1-15 May, 2011
Part Two: Writing the Analysis and Presentation of Participatory Action Research, 2-9 October, 2011
Course Content: Understanding different concepts related to development such as: Social Change, Concept of Development, Right Based and Need Based Approach, Grass-root Advocacy and Participatory Action Research (PAR). Field practice to understand the concepts and how to apply PAR into a specific development issue. Reflection and analyzing a specific issue that has been affecting community people. Conducting Participatory Action Research Assignment (PARA).Report Writing and Presentation.
