The 2010 symposium is designed to engage the Cambodian research community, policy makers, and key development partners in an-expert led discussion of the important contribution of research and the knowledge it generates to the achievement of development outcomes. Its aims are to bring all research interest groups together to promote awareness of the value of development research and to contribute to the building of a ‘research culture’ in Cambodia.
The theme for this year's symposium is "Research and Policy Response to Cambodia's Recovery and Development". The subthemes will include:
I-Trade, growth, and economic development
II-Agriculture, Rural Development, Poverty, Food Security and Livelihoods
III-Natural Resources, Environment and Climate ChangeIV-Good Governance: Decentralization and Deconcentration
Speakers will be both national and international experts representing various organisations including research institutions, academia, governmental institutions, NGOs and development partners. The Symposium will attract around 250 participants including leading researchers, government officials, NGOs, students and academics, field practitioners and community leaders.
